Transformation, identity, connection, space and reality. These are important recurring themes in choreographer Sedrig Verwoert's work. In previous pieces, he linked these concepts to larger social issues; in his latest work, Venus, he approaches them in a different way: within the haze of our ever-changing world, he goes back to the core. “And that core,” Verwoert says, ”is dance.” In collaboration with designer Bart Hess, Venus becomes a multidisciplinary experience of which you, the audience, are an integral part.
